Abstract
Due to the Ottoman invasion and the succeeding wartime circumstances, there are only few sources available now from the 16–17th Century Pápa. The collection and publication of sources took a new start in the 1990s. An archavist, the author publishes the will (1636) of István Kovács, a citizen and magistrate of Pápa and his two additional documents, through which the author contributes to the history of the local elite.
