Abstract

The following article interprets the piece selected from Péter Dobai’s volume of poetry, Memory of Sails, inspired by famous painters. It analyzes the piece written about Károly Kisfaludy’s two paintings, the famous landscape and historical painter, the somewhat forgotten poet of Hungarian Romanticism. The essence of the Dobai poems is that it not only recalls this remarkable figure of Hungarian literature, but also conveys to contemporary literature a specific and unique postmodern lyrical vision immersed in historical recollection which individualizes his poetry and turns it into a knowledge repository of the past.
