Abstract
The concept of a cartel party as formulated by Richard S. Katz and Peter Mair initially provoked a debate between the authors and Professor Ruud Koole. However, numerous empirical studies on the issue of cartelisation have yielded several conclusions on the thesis that merit further reflection.
