Abstract

A kutatás a társadalmi normák kialakulásának, érvényesítésének és a normaszegésből adódó konfliktusok kezelésének kérdéskörét vizsgálta egymástól lényegileg eltérő környezetekben. Arra keresett választ, hogy hogyan jönnek létre és miként kerülnek elfogadásra kooperációs és koordinációs normák, illetve az esetleges normaszegésnek milyen társadalmi válaszai lehetségesek. A vállalatközi kapcsolatokat vizsgáló nagymintás mélyinterjús részkutatás rávilágított arra, hogy a formális intézményrendszer működésének hiányosságai, az aszimmetrikus erőviszonyok, a szektorális hatások és a korrupció jelentősen meghatározzák a magyar kis- és középvállalkozások kooperációs normarendszerének alakulását és a normaszegésből adódó konfliktusok kezelését. A részkutatás rámutatott az alternatív konfliktus-kezelő technikák létjogosultságára és elterjedtségére, amely a jogi környezet nem megfelelő válaszainak köszönhető. A kooperációs és koordinációs normák kialakulását résztvevő megfigyeléssel és kérdőívezéssel Máltai játszótereken is vizsgáltuk. Itt a normaszegés spontán szankcionálásával kapcsolatban a kutatás rámutatott a beágyazottság jelentőségére, illetve hogy sok esetben eseti egyéni motivációk módosíthatják az ilyen irányú viselkedést. A közösségi normák dinamikáját ezeken kívül az Internetes társkeresés kapcsán vizsgáltuk. Azt találtuk, hogy a kapcsolatépítést a hasonlók vonzódásának (homofília) dominálja, igaz, lehet, hogy némileg más dimenziókban, mint az off-line közösségekben. | The research has examined the development and maintenance of social norms and the consequences and handling of violations of norms in substantially different environments. It aimed to answer how cooperation and coordination norms emerge and get accepted, and what kind of social answers can be given to potential violations of norms. A project examining inter-firm relations with a large sample of interviews has shown that the deficiencies in the operations of formal institutions, asymmetric power relations, sector effects and corruption primarily determine the development of cooperation norms among Hungarian small- and medium enterprises and also the handling of conflicts from violations of norms. We have also examined the emergence of cooperation and coordination norms at Malta playgrounds with participant observation and survey. In connection to spontaneous sanctioning of violations of norms, the research has demonstrated the importance of embeddedness, and that sanctioning behavior is often modified by casual individual motivations. Besides, we have examined the dynamics of community norms on Internet dating sites. We found that attraction of similar others (homophily) is the dominant mechanism, but in slightly different dimensions than in off-line communities.
