Abstract

The view of pragmatics has an outstanding role in functional translational stylistic analyses. It does not focus on the identification and definition of different linguistic units, but it approaches these components from the socio-cultural and cognitive background. It studies the dynamic construal of meaning-in-context through the actual contextual relations and intentions. It emphasises the importance of temporality in the background of the social and cultural changes. It approaches the linguistic features of translations by applying these factors altogether and in connection with each other. The translational stylistic analysis of the reduction of values shows a good example for this.
