Abstract
The present paper analyses the genres used in translator training with an emphasis on the fields of social science and economy, mainly in the language pair German-Hungarian. First, it provides an overview of the genres of source texts still relevant in translator training. Then it highlights the less significant genres, or rather the genres that have become less significant in recent years. This latter phenomenon is first and foremost due to the spread of computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools which support the translators mainly in case of highly standardized texts and genres.
