Abstract
Field oriented control (FOC) is a widespread method in the controlling of AC induction motors requirring high dynamic performance. However, this method has numerous drawbacks. This method is complex, requires much computation and is parameter - sensitive. These problems led to the inventions of different control methods. One of these is dircet torque control. This a rticle pr esents the principle, a possible realization and the main features of direct torque control.
