Abstract
The assemblage of ten iron tools found at Balatonőszöd-Temetői dűlő was assessed and discussed by Katalin Boglárka Bognár. In my view, the assemblage was not hidden in the thirteenth–fourteenth centuries, but in the early Middle Ages, probably during the ninth century. Amending her map of the findspots of medieval iron tools and implements, I reviewed the early medieval iron tool finds in Hungary, mainly from the ninth century.
