Abstract
In 2022 two new romanesque stone carvings were found in the Turkish period stratum of the castle. The limestone capital belonging to a half column built by the wall follows the ornamentation of the earlier found version with acanthus leaves and palmettes deeply engraved into the surface. The other sandstone carving is part of a wall pillar partially decorated by medalions each framed by a row of pearls. Both stone carvings fit in well with the ornamental art of the Székesfehérvár – Pécs – Somogyvár circle from the last decades of the 12 C.
