Abstract
Between 2020 and 2023, we carried out an archaeological geophysical survey of seven medieval church sites in Somogy county. The aim of the surveys was to confirm the existence of the churches or to investigate the condition and plan of the underground walls. Only one of the church sites (Balatonszabadi) had been previously excavated, the other six sites (Bárdudvarnok, Bőszénfa, Csokonyavisonta, Kiskorpád, Somogysárd, Szentgáloskér) were only examined with the geophysical survey to obtain information on the layout and size of the church. During geophysical survey two methods were used: magnetic method and ground-penetrating radar method.
