Abstract
International Rugby Experience, Limerick, Ireland; Architect: Níall Mclaughlin. To the chagrin of the residents of Limerick, a city credited with the popularity of short, humorous and frequently crude verse, this building has been executed as a poetic act dedicated to the cities Georgian past and the sport of rugby. Working within a strict geometric order of proportion derived from brickwork dimensions combined with advances in manufacturing of precast concrete elements a visitor experience has been established, crowned by a double-height hall located above the level of its neighbours.
