Abstract
This paper deals with names of objects, a neglected field of onomastic research. The author presents the result of a questionnaire survey focusing on 3 questions concerning the names of dolls: What is the name of the doll? Who named the doll? Why did the doll get its name? Names of dolls correspond to personal names to a high degree, the explanation of which can undoubtedly be found in the similarity of dolls to human beings.
