Abstract

A Jwalant Mahadevwala és Adity Rawat építészek által tervezett Cocoon nevű (körülbelül gubót jelentő) óvodai bővítés 2024 elején készült el a Bloomingdale Nemzetközi Iskola részeként, s azóta jelentős kortárs oktatási építészeti referenciaponttá vált mind helyi, mind tágabb léptékben. A projekt szakít a hagyományos iskolaformával, új alapokra helyezve a tanulási környezet térbeli és esztétikai megközelítését. | ARCHITECT: ANDBLACK DESIGN STUDIO Cocoon at the Bloomingdale International School redefines educational architecture with its innovative extension. Utilizing parametric design, the structure features a flowing, turf-covered roof and transparent glass walls, creating fluid, interconnected learning spaces that merge seamlessly with the outdoors. This pioneering design abandons traditional classrooms to encourage curiosity and freedom of movement, relying on its unique form and material honesty to create a stimulating environment. The school stands as an example for how architecture can shape a playful, non-conformist, and inspiring new way forward for education.
