Abstract
The Lutheran and the Calvinist lines of the Transdanubian Protestantism separated from each other due to theological disputes from the years of 1580s, but their official separation did not occur until 1612. It was due to the fact that Protestant bishop István Böjte was claimed their own by both parts. Only after the death of Böjte did the reformed preachers elect a new bishop, preacher István Patai from Rohonc, at the synod held in Körmend on 19-20 June 1612. Lutheran preachers did the same, who elected preacher István Klaszekovics from Fertőszentmiklós bishop most probably in June. Thus formed the Transdanubian Reformed Superintendence and the Transdanubian Evangelic Superintendence. Archivist PhD József Köblös gives a summary of the events of 1612 in his study, introduces the reformed superintendence and publishes the archival records written in Latin language and their Hungarian translation.
