Abstract

In the miscellanea collection, various forms of manuscript annotations appear: pos-sessor entries, handwritten tables of contents preceding the colligatum, notes at-tached to allegorical printed works, interpretations, separate pages inserted into the colligatum, handwritten works by other authors related to the content of the printed text, occasional poems, poetry translations, funeral poems, epitaphs, building in-scriptions, riddles, logographs, plays, speeches, medical prescriptions, and theolo-gical and pedagogical dissertations added at the end of the colligatum. The contents of the separate pages inserted into the colligatums are often school materials, but they also contain chronostichons and occasional poems. The content of the Jászó (Jasov) manuscript books found in Martin is similarly varied, ranging from prayers to speeches to poetic praise of the women of Kassa (Košice) and Nagyvárad (Oradea). The languages of the occasional poems include Latin, Hungarian, and Slovak. Much of this content—especially the plays and poems—would merit inde-pendent investigation.
