Abstract

The paper focuses on the manuscript and structure of Pietro Ranzano’s Annales omnium temporum, a significant work by the 15th-century Dominican scholar. Despite Ranzano’s recognized importance in both Hungarian and international scholarship, his major work, the Annales, remains understudied, particularly in relation to its surviving manuscript. The only known copy, held in Palermo, presents several philological and textual issues, including structural inconsistencies and multiple layers of revisions. The study, which heavily relies on current international scholarship, also investigates how Ranzano’s autograph corrections and later interventions influenced the final form of the text, contributing to the debates regarding its textual history. Furthermore, the author highlights key problems and research opportunities, aiming to draw attention to areas requiring further exploration.
