Abstract

Az Európai Felsőoktatási Térség országaiban egyre nagyobb figyelem irányul a felsőoktatás szociális dimenziójára. Tanulmányunkban az EUROSTUDENT 8 kutatás hazai hallgatói adatai alapján vizsgáljuk, hogy a szülők iskolai végzettségének különbségei hogyan jelennek meg a hallgatók felsőoktatási tanulmányai során. Megállapítható, hogy az elsőgenerációs hallgatók számos ponton szembesülnek nehézségekkel, részben a bemenetkor, részben a felsőfokú tanulmányok időszakában, amikor nagyobb anyagi és munkavállalási terhek jellemzik őket. Az eltérő előképzettségből eredő hátrányok és lemaradások a képzés folyamatában sok tekintetben kompenzálásra kerülnek, de a szülői iskolázottság szerinti eltérések nem tűnnek el teljesen. Adataink arra is rávilágítanak, hogy az elsőgenerációs hallgatókon belül különösen az a csoport érdemel nagyobb figyelmet a támogatások terén, ahol a szülők egyike sem rendelkezik érettségivel. | The social dimension of higher education is receiving increasing attention in the countries of the European Higher Education Area. In our study, based on data from the EUROSTUDENT 8 survey in Hungary, we examine how differences in parental education are reflected in students’ higher education studies. We find that first-generation students face difficulties at several points, partly at entry and partly during the period of higher education studies, when they face higher financial and employment burdens. The disadvantages and lags resulting from different educational backgrounds are in many respects compensated for during the training process, but the differences in parental education do not disappear completely. Our data also show that among first-generation students, particular attention deserves that group in terms of support where neither parent has a school leaving certificate.
