Abstract

A kötet az életreform sokszínű irányzatait vizsgálja, amelyek a 19–20. század fordulóján a modernizáció kihívásaira jelentek meg válaszként. Az életreform szoros összefüggésben áll a reformpedagógiai mozgalommal, amely nézeteiben a felvilágosodás és az újkori pedagógia eszméiből merít. Az 1990-es évek közepétől jelentek meg az első kutatások, melyek a reformpedagógia és az életreform mozgalmak viszonyát, a mozgalmak kölcsönhatását nemzetközi társadalomtörténeti, recepciós és hatástörténeti kontextusba helyezve, interdiszciplináris megközelítésben elemezték, rámutatva azok multikulturális jellegére. A tanulmánykötet az ELTE PPK Történeti, Elméleti és Összehasonlító Pedagógiai Kutatócsoport 2004-ben indult Életreform és reformpedagógia kutatási projektjéhez kapcsolódik. A tanulmányok két fő témakör köré épülnek: Életreform és művészetek – vallásos és okkult hatások, valamint Életreform – reformpedagógia és művészetpedagógia. A vizsgált területek az irodalomtól és a képzőművészettől a filozófián, a zenén és a mozdulatművészeten át a távol-keleti hatásokig, a pedagógiáig és a fürdőkultúráig terjednek. A változatos témák jól tükrözik az életreform mozgalmak hazai recepciójának összetettségét és sokrétűségét. Bízunk benne, hogy az irányzatok mögött rejlő részletek elemzése hozzájárul az olvasók számára az életreformerek szándékainak, célkitűzéseinek árnyaltabb megértéséhez, és segíti a mozgalmak eszmei alapjainak tudományos igényű feltárását. | The volume examines the diverse currents of the life-reform movements that emerged around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries as responses to the challenges of modernization. Life-reform is closely connected to the reform pedagogy movement, which drew upon the ideas of the Enlightenment and modern educational philosophy. Since the mid-1990s, the first studies have appeared that explored the relationship and mutual influence between reform pedagogy and the life-reform movements within an international socio-historical, reception-historical, and impact-historical context, using an interdisciplinary approach that highlighted their multicultural character. The collected studies are related to the research project Life-Reform and Reform Pedagogy, launched in 2004 by the Historical, Theoretical and Comparative Pedagogy Research Group at Eötvös Loránd University, Faculty of Education and Psychology (ELTE PPK). The essays are organized around two main thematic areas: Life-Reform and the Arts – Religious and Occult Influences, and Life-Reform – Reform Pedagogy and Art Education. The fields under examination range from literature and the visual arts to philosophy, music, and movement art, extending to Far Eastern influences, pedagogy, and bathing culture. The variety of topics reflects the complexity and diversity of the reception of life-reform movements in Hungary. We hope that the analyses of the details underlying these movements will contribute to a more nuanced understanding of the intentions and goals of the life-reformers, and support the scholarly exploration of the intellectual foundations of the movements.
