Abstract

A magyar nyelvű tudomány helyzete és jövője régóta foglalkoztatja nemcsak a nyelvészeket, hanem más kutatókat és általánosságban az értelmiséget. Az angol nyelvű tudományos kommunikáció évtizedek óta elengedhetetlen a természettudományi, matematikai, orvosi, műszaki területeken, és az utóbbi időszakban a bölcsészet- és társadalomtudományok területén is megerősödött az angol nyelvű tudományos kommunikáció fontossága Magyarországon is. A magyar felsőoktatásban megerősödtek a nemzetköziesedési folyamatok, és egyre több egyetem tűzi ki célul a nemzetköziesítést, amelybe beletartozik az angol nyelvű tudományos publikációk megjelentetése, a nemzetközi kapcsolatok bővítése, az oktatók, diákok, adminisztratív munkatársak mobilitása, a nemzetközi hallgatók számának növelése stb. Ezek a folyamatok mind a kétnyelvű (angol és magyar) tudományos kommunikáció szükségességét erősítik, és hatásukra egyre több intézmény tér át az angol közvetítőnyelvű oktatásra és az angol nyelvű publikálásra. A tanulmány célja annak vizsgálata, hogy a nemzetköziesedés folyamatai következtében mit jelent számunkra a kétnyelvű tudományos kommunikáció. | The status and future of Hungarian-language studies have been a source of concern for many people, including linguists, other researchers, and intellectuals. English-language scientific communication has been essential in the fields of natural sciences, mathematics, medicine, and engineering for decades. The importance of English-language scientific communication in Hungary has recently been reinforced in the humanities and social sciences. In Hungarian higher education, internationalization processes have intensified. More and more universities are focusing on internationalization, including publishing scientific papers in English, expanding international relations, increasing the mobility of teachers, students, and administrative staff, and welcoming more international students. These processes underscore the importance of bilingual (English and Hungarian) scientific communication, with an increasing number of institutions adopting English-mediated instruction and publishing. The objective of this study is to examine the implications of bilingual scientific communication in the context of internationalization processes.
