ált időszakban az eredményesség tekintetében Európa második-harmadik vonalába tartozott, elsősorban a nyugati országok, Franciaország, Nagy- Britannia, Olaszország és Németország mögött. A két világháború okozta politikai, társadalmi és gazdasági nehézségek nem segítették a hazai motorkerékpárgyártó ipar európai szintű kifejlődését, amely erősíthette volna a versenyzés műszaki hátterét is, ez a magyar élversenyzőket külföldi motorok beszerzésére és üzemeltetésére kényszerítette. A magyar motorkerékpársport így nem annyira rendszerszintű működése, mindinkább azoknak a kiemelkedő egyéniségeinek köszönhetően ért el figyelemreméltó eredményeket, akiknek anyagilag is lehetőségük volt korszerű versenymotorokat beszerezni. Intézményrendszerét tekintve a magyar motorkerékpársport az első években lényegében egyéni és egyesületi szinten működött, csak az első világháború után került szövetségi szintre az akkori Autóklubba való betagozódása révén. A két háború közötti korszak legeredményesebb pályaversenyzői Urbach László, akinek a nevéhez a későbbi Mátra motorkerékpár gyártása is fűződik, Delmár Walter, Feledy Pál, Balázs László és mindenekelőtt Kozma Endre voltak. Kozma volt az első magyar Európa-bajnoki pontszerző, aki csak az akkori német sportpolitika miatt maradt le arról, hogy a BMW-nél gyári versenyzői státuszt kapjon. Landauer Béláné személyében már 1924-ben megjelent az első magyar női versenyző is. Összességében elmondható, hogy a magyar motorkerékpársportban az egyéni képességeket tekintve megvolt a megfelelő potenciál, de a korszak adottságai nem tették lehetővé, hogy a legjobbak igazi nemzetközi sztárrá válhassanak. | Hungarian motorcycle racing was in the second to third line of Europe in terms of performance during this period, behind the Western countries, France, Great Britain, Italy and Germany. The political, social and economic difficulties caused by the two world wars did not help the development of the Hungarian motorcycle industry at European level, which could have strengthened the technical background of racing, forcing the Hungarian top riders to buy and operate foreign bikes. Hungarian motorcycle racing has thus achieved remarkable results not so much because of its systemic operation but because of the outstanding individuals who were financially able to acquire modern racing bikes. In terms of its institutional system, Hungarian motorcycle racing in the early years was essentially individual and club-based, and only after the First World War did it reach the federal level through its incorporation into the then Autóklub. The most successful racing riders of the interwar period were László Urbach, who was responsible for the later production of the Mátra motorcycle, Walter Delmár, Pál Feledy, László Balázs and, above all, Endre Kozma. Kozma was the first Hungarian European championship point scorer who only missed out on becoming a factory rider for BMW because of German sporting policy at the time. The first Hungarian female driver, Béláné Landauer, had already appeared in 1924. All in all, Hungarian motorcycle racing had the potential in terms of individual ability, but the conditions of the time did not allow the best to become international stars.
