Abstract

Magyarországon 2010 óta az illiberális állam kiépülésével és a munkaerőpiaci expanzióval párhuzamosan romlott az oktatás minősége, és növekedett a társadalmi–etnikai szegregáció. Az itt ismertetett kutatás ezeknek a társadalmi folyamatoknak a rendszerré szerveződését vizsgálja egy egyiskolás község példáján keresztül. A helyi pedagógusokkal és egyéb aktorokkal készült, félig strukturált interjúk alapján a település mindennapjait jelentős mértékben meghatározza az etnikai megkülönböztetés; az iskolához kapcsolódó narratíva az oktatási eredménytelenségre és a fegyelem hiányára fókuszál. A kutatás eredményei alapján a tanulmány amellett érvel, hogy az országos szintű oktatáspolitikai folyamatok lokális hatásai kiemelt szerepet játszanak az etnikai különbségtétel újratermelődésében. | Since 2010, the quality of education has deteriorated, and socio-ethnic segregation has increased in Hungary in parallel with the establishment of the illiberal state and the expansion of the labour market. The research presented here examines the systemisation of these social processes through the example of a single-school village. Based on semi-structured interviews with local teachers and other actors, ethnic discrimination significantly determines the everyday life of the village. The narrative related to the school focuses primarily on the lack of educational effectiveness and discipline. Based on the results of the research, the study argues that the local effects of national educational policy processes play a prominent role in the reproduction of local ethnic segregation.
