Abstract
BAHRAIN PAVILION, OSAKA EXPO 2025, JAPAN; ARCHITECT: Lina Ghotmeh – Architecture Designed by Lina Ghotmeh for the 2025 Osaka Expo, the Kingdom of Bahrain Pavilion, titled "Connecting the Seas," serves as a contemporary architectural tribute to the traditional Bahraini dhow, capturing the essence of the vessel through a rhythmic Japanese cedar framework that mimics a ship’s structural form. The Integrating cultural narrative, structural logic, and sustainability strategies, utilizing a dry-joint timber system for easy assembly and reuse, whilst employing passive cooling strategies like a central atrium and surrounding water features.
