Abstract

A tanulmányban arra vállalkozom, hogy összefoglaljam, rendszerezzem a magyarországi cigányság tankönyvi reprezentációjára vonatkozó tudományos vizsgálatok eredményeit. Írásomat helyzetfeltárásnak tekintem, amely bemutatja az elmúlt bő húsz év pozitív és negatív tendenciáit a romológiai ismeretek tankönyvi megjelenítésével kapcsolatban. A korábbi publikációk vizsgálata feltárta a cigánysággal kapcsolatos tananyagtartalmak mennyiségi és minőségi problémáit, rámutatott, hogy a cigányok, romák erőteljesen alulreprezentáltak a köznevelésben használt tankönyvekben, továbbá az evidensen lehetőséget kínáló témák kapcsán sem kerülnek szóba. A szerzők rávilágítottak, hogy a tankönyvi tartalmak minősége nem megfelelő a cigányság társadalmi befogadásának elősegítéséhez és az előítéletesség visszaszorításához. |This study aims to summarize and systemize the findings of scientific studies on the representation of the Roma in Hungarian textbooks. This study is intended as an exploration of the positive and negative trends in the presentation of knowledge related to the Roma in Hungarian textbooks in the past two decades. The analysis of previous publications revealed qualitative and quantitative issues in the Roma-related content of educative materials, shedding light on the fact that the Roma are significantly underrepresented in textbooks used in public education and are omitted even from topics that would clearly provide an opportunity to include them. The authors highlighted that the quality of textbook content is inadequate for promoting the social inclusion of the Roma communities and for reducing prejudice against them.
