Abstract

Tanulmányomban Norbert Elias szociológiája révén mutatom be az erőszak-monopólium kialakulását és megszilárdulását. Ennek során kiemelt figyelmet fordítok a relacionista szemlélet kidomborítására, valamint az erőszak túlélési egységekben betöltött funkcióira. Röviden ismertetem az erőszak visszaszorulásának mintázatait, valamint kitérek azokra a módszertani vitákra, melyek az erőszak „mérhetősége” köré szerveződnek. Végezetül utalok azokra az elemzési lehetőségekre, melyek az erőszak szublimált formáit állíthatják a figurációs szociológia fókuszterébe. I In my paper, I use the sociology of Norbert Elias to show the emergence and consolidation of the monopoly of violence. In doing so, I will pay particular attention to the emergence of a relational perspective and the functions of violence in survival units. I will briefly describe the patterns of the decline in violence and refer to the methodological debates that have centred around the ‚measurability’ of violence. Finally, I refer to the analytical possibilities that can bring sublimated forms of violence into the focus of figurative sociology.
