Abstract

Jelen tanulmány célja áttekinteni Carl Schmitt munkásságának erőszakkal kapcsolatos kérdésköreit és motívumait. Noha a szerző egyetlen önálló művet sem szentelt az erőszak kérdésének, megállapítható, hogy a szuverenitással, a kivételes állapottal és a politikai fogalmával kapcsolatos elemzéseiben látens módon megjelenik az erőszak mozzanata, a politikum és az államiság modern szintézisének válsága pedig gondolkodásában előrevetíti az állami erőszak-monopólium megkérdőjeleződését. Bár Schmitt – ahogy bemutatjuk – nem tett érdemi lépést egy önálló erőszakelmélet kidolgozása felé, olyan politikaelmélet alapjait fektette le, amely korunkban hozzájárulhat az erőszakos konfliktusok mélyebb megértéséhez. I This paper aims to explore the themes and motifs surrounding violence within Carl Schmitt’s work. Although Schmitt has not explicitly focused on violence in any single publication, it is evident that the issue is implicitly woven into his analyses of sovereignty, exceptionalism, and the concept of the political. Furthermore, the crisis of the modern synthesis between the political and the state hints at a challenge to the state’s monopoly on violence. While Schmitt did not develop a formal theory of violence, his political theory provides valuable insights that can enhance our understanding of contemporary violent conflicts.
