Abstract

A magyar mint idegen nyelv oktatásának kezdeti korszakát 1720 és 1800 közé tehetjük (Éder 1983, p. 309). Ebben az időszakban kezdődik a magyar mint anyanyelv és a magyar mint idegen nyelv oktatásának tudatos elkülönítése. A korszak egyik meghatározó nyelvtanírója Adámi Mihály, akinek nyelvészeti munkásságába az utókor az Ausführliche und neuerläuterte ungarische Sprachkunst...vizsgálatán keresztül nyerhet mélyebb betekintést. Adámi behatóan tárgyalja a magyar névszókhoz kapcsolható esetragokat és esetragértékű posztpozíciókat. A magyar nyelvben a névszóragok bősége egy olyan sajátos jegy, amelynek tanítása módszertani nehézséget okozhat a nem dominánsan agglutináló anyanyelvű tanulóknak, ezért a német ajkúaknak írt nyelvkönyvekben való megjelenítésüket mindenképp érdemes alapos vizsgálódás tárgyává tenni. Bár Adámi még a Debreceni Grammatikától és Verseghy 1816-os nyelvtanától eltérően német–latin terminológiai keretben (hol négy, hol pedig a vokatívusszal együtt hat esetet említve) vizsgálja a magyar névszói paradigmát, valójában szinte minden esetragot és esetragfunkciójú névutót is számba vesz.Kutatásaim során az Adámi-mű vizsgálata jó előkészítő esettanulmánynak bizonyult. A korpusz kontrasztív, azaz a magyar és a német esetrendszer közötti különbségekre és hasonlóságokra fókuszáló vizsgálata grammatika- és nyelvtanítás-történeti szempontból egyaránt sokat ígérő. | The initial period of the teaching of Hungarian as a foreign language can be identified as the period between 1720 and 1800 (Éder 1983, p. 309). These 80 years mark the beginning of the conscious separation between the teaching of Hungarian as a mother tongue and as a foreign language. One of the most important linguists of the period was Mihály Adámi, whose work can be studied in greater depth through his Ausführliche und neuerläuterte ungarische Sprachkunst (Vienna, 1760). Adámi discusses in detail the case sufÏxes and postpositions (equivalent to case sufÏxes) that can be attached to Hungarian nouns. A distinctive feature of the Hungarian language is the abundance of case endings, which can cause difÏculties for those learners whose mother tongue is not agglutinating, hence their representation in grammars for native speakers of German, for example, is certainly worth investigating in depth. Although Adámi, in contrast to the Debrecen Grammatika and Verseghy's grammar of 1816, considers the Hungarian nominal paradigm in the terminological framework of Latin and German (sometimes with four and sometimes with six cases, including the vocative), he does in fact account for nearly all the casesufÏxes and postpositions of Hungarian. My research into Adámi's work has proved to be a good pilot case study. The contrastive study of the corpus, i.e. an analysis focusing on the differences and similarities between the Hungarian and the German grammatical case system, is very promising from the point of view of both the history of grammar and the history of language teaching.
