Abstract

A magyar irodalom és kultúra világszerte elismert, azonban az arab világban való megjelenése és hatása sokak számára még mindig ismeretlen területnek számít. Az elmúlt évtizedekben egyre nagyobb figyelmet kaptak a magyar művészek és írók munkái, amelyek sajátos párbeszédet alakítottak ki az arab kultúrával. A tanulmány a magyar irodalom és kultúra arab világban való jelenlétét és fogadtatását vizsgálja, különös tekintettel a műfordítások történetére és jelenlegi helyzetére. A kutatás az eddig megjelent magyar–arab fordítások mennyiségi és minőségi jellemzőit, időbeli eloszlását és műfaji sokszínűségét elemzi. Kitér olyan specifikus problémákra, mint a hiányos adatokkal megjelent kiadványok, a művek többszöri lefordításának kérdése, valamint a pontatlan és hibás fordítások jelenléte. Külön figyelmet szentel a kiemelkedő műfordítók munkásságának, illetve a magyar színházi alkotások egyiptomi rádióadaptációinak. A tanulmány egyúttal rámutat arra is, hogy bár 2010 után jelentősen felgyorsult a fordítási tevékenység, azonban továbbra isszámos kihívással kell szembesülni a magyar irodalom arab nyelvű terjesztése során. A kutatás eredményei hozzájárulnak a két kultúra közötti párbeszéd elmélyítéséhez és a fordítási gyakorlatok fejlesztéséhez. = The rich history and culture of Hungarian literature are recognized worldwide, yet their presence and influence in the Arab world remain an unexplored territory for many. In recent decades, the works of Hungarian artists and writers have garnered increasing attention, establishing a unique dialogue with Arab culture. This study examines the presence and reception of Hungarian literature and culture in the Arab world, with particular emphasis on the history and current state of literary translations. Drawing upon published Hungarian-Arabic translations, the research analyzes their quantitative and qualitative characteristics, temporal distribution, and genre diversity. The investigation addresses critical issues, including publications with incomplete bibliographic data, multiple translations of the same works, and the prevalence of inaccurate translations. Special attention is devoted to the contributions of prominent translators and the significant impact of Egyptian radio adaptations of Hungarian theatrical works. While translation activities have notably accelerated since 2010, the study identifies persistent challenges in the dissemination of Hungarian literature in Arabic. The research findings offer valuable insights for deepening intercultural dialogue and enhancing translation practices between these two literary traditions.
