Abstract
Cam–follower mechanisms are widely used in various forms of applications. One of these applications is the usage in hedge trimmers. Cam-follower mechanisms have the advantage, that they are long-lasting machine components, and they do not need a lot of space in order to accommodate them in the machine. One of their limitations is the noise and vibration that they cause during their operation. This paper investigates how the vibration changes close to the knives and at the rear handling area.
