Abstract
This personal account explores the escape of Hungarian Holocaust survivors to Sweden and their identity dilemmas. Through her family’s story, the author reveals the ambivalent preservation of Hungarian cultural heritage and the challenges of rebuilding life. The paper highlights how war trauma and political context shaped attitudes toward national identity.
