Abstract

This data paper presents a collection lexical entries of koinonia/κοινωνία from major Greek–English lexicons, as well as Latin translations of the term found in the Biblia Sacra Vulgatae Editionis (Vulgata Clementina) [Sixto-Clementine Vulgate Bible] (1592) and the Nova Vulgata Bibliorum Sacrorum Editio [New Vulgate Edition of the Holy Bible] (The Holy See, 1979), with the aim of providing a structured multi-language textual database of meaning and conceptual analysis. The database consists of 153 blocks of text labelled from A to EW, based on the entries found in Liddell–Scott (1883), Lampe (1961), and various other sources. In addition to the various meanings found for the term in these lexicons, the references were traced back to the original, classical texts and presented in a broader context alongside their corresponding English translations with the aim of identifying the specific members of the koinonia in question, and structure the meanings of the term according to the characteristics that those members possess.
