Abstract
In this country report the author will take a closer look at the case of the Republic of Croatia, which had already started its journey towards EU membership in 2001 by signing the SAA Agreement. Croatia applied for EU membership in 2003, was confirmed as a candidate country by the European Council in 2004, participated in negotiation process from 2005 until 2011, and finally became the 28th EU member country on 1st July 2013. The author will give a detailed overview of the key steps in the accession process, the adopted EU legal measures for Croatia, as well as the selected official documents adopted by the public authorities of the Republic of Croatia and the institutions of the European Union from 2001 to 2013, related to the process of its accession to the European Union.
