Abstract
This paper presents a mentor–student project developing a hoverboard-based educational mobile robot. Such a product integrates the basics of several professional fields, including mechanics, electronics, mechatronics, and partly the vehicle development, so it is a valuable area of knowledge growth. The practiceoriented nature of the development allows the acquisition of practical skills in addition to professional knowledge. The project is a good example of the cooperation between technician education and the university. The achieved functionality can be extended with autonomous functions in the next stage of the project.
