Abstract
Abstract: In the present paper I analyze the phonetic changes in the Latin language of Scythia Minor based on the deviations found on imperial inscriptions of the area. After limiting the number of phonetic deviations to strictly linguistic deviations, we will see, that the most frequent deviations confirm the future Romance phonetic changes and especially in case of the Rumanian language. As the numbers for vowel and consonant deviations are similarly high, we can state that this region takes part of the third group based on the criteria defined by József Herman (s. Herman, 2000b: 128-133).
