Abstract
Az egyetemek által kiadott folyóiratok jelenleg a tudományos szakirodalomnak egy szerényebb szeletét teszik ki, de számos jele és még több indoka van annak, hogy azt gondoljuk, szerepük növekedőben van. A növekedés ez idő szerint leginkább a társadalomtudományok területén mutatható ki. Az egyetemek folyóirat-kiadási tevékenység sze- rinti rangsorának élmezőnye néhány nyilvánvaló esélyes (Oxford, Cambridge, Chicago) mellett váratlanabb szereplő- ket is előtérbe hoz. | Journals published by universities take up a modest part of the scientific literature at the moment, but there are sev- eral signs and even more reasons to believe that their significance is rising. Recently, the most significant increase can be detected in social sciences. The top list of university rankings based on journal publishing activity brings into the forefront – beside some obvious favorites (Oxford, Cambridge, Chicago) – some less expected universities, as well.
