Abstract

Recent housing challenges in Tokyo lead to the set of variables which helped generate this apartment building and parking spaces, where the design is heavily dependent upon a linking stairwell that also functions as a storage space. Working within a controlled and limited material and colour palette an uncluttered collective set of spaces has been generated. The final building takes advantage of natural lighting and ventilation to remove the need for extensive mechanical building solutions, leading towards a rich living experience within a limited space.
