Abstract
Since the beginning of humanity, thinkers have been concerned with the question of why close relatives are so similar to each other, as well as why the same disease accompanies several generations within a given family. We had to wait until the 19th century for the discovery of genes, and almost until the 21st century for gene technology to become regulated by law. The genetic tests and research carried out on humans have fundamentally questioned the way we think about human nature. Can human rights be fully ensured during a gene technology procedure? Is the system legally regulated enought to ensure that not only research freedom is realized, but also the right to human dignity?
