Abstract

Az emberek már ősidők óta biztonságosnak vélt menedékekbe húzódnak a vadállatok, a természet ereje és leginkább az ellenség elől. A történelem kezdetén ezek ter-mészetes barlangok, sziklahasadékok voltak, de az elmúlt évezredek során, ahogy az emberiség meghódította a Földet, egyre robusztusabb védőszerkezeteket alakítottak ki, azzal a céllal, hogy a túlélésüket biztosítsák. Az egyre korszerűbb és pusztítóbb fegyverek megjelenése folyama-tosan új kihívások elé állította a katonai és polgári életvédelmi létesítményeket tervező mér-nököket, építészeket. Ezek a különleges és titokzatos építmények a hidegháború évtizedeiben terjedtek el a legnagyobb mértékben világszerte, de sajnos máig sem vesztették el jelentőségü-ket. A 2023-as vilniusi NATO-csúcson a tagállamok megegyeztek a szövetség nukleáris elrettentő képességének korszerűsítésében és erősítésében, amely szintén a fenyegetettség erősödésére utal. | Since time immemorial, people have taken refuge in presumed safe havens from wild animals, the forces of nature and, most of all, the enemy. At the dawn of history, these were natural caves and rocky ravines, but over the millennia, as humans conquered the Earth, they developed ever more robust protective structures to ensure their survival. The emergence of ever more advanced and destructive weapons has continually presented new challenges to engineers and architects designing military and civilian life protection facilities. These special and mysterious structures became the most widespread worldwide during the decades of the Cold War, but unfortunately have not lost their significance to the present day. At the 2023 Vil-nius Summit, the NATO member states agreed on modernizing and strengthening the nuclear deterrence capability of the Alliance, which also indicates the increasing threat.
