Abstract

In this paper, I will discuss the tournament held on the occasion of the coronation of Archduke Rudolf of the House of Habsburg (the future Emperor Rudolf II) as King Rudolf I of Hungary (r. 1576–1608) in Pozsony (Preßburg, Bratislava) in 1572, as well as the associated costume designs.
