Abstract
Bár a légpárnás járművek megjelenésük idején komoly figyelmet kaptak, katonai felhasználásuk korántsem lett olyan széles körű, mint sokan várták. Az Egyesült Államok haditengerészete és hadserege azonban már az 1960-as években kipróbálta első légpárnás járműveit a vietnámi háborúban, ahol partközeli és folyami műveletek során szereztek harci tapasztalatokat. | Although the introduction of air cushioned vehicles attracted huge media at-tention, their military application was not and still is not as wide as expected. The US Navy and Army, however, were quick to test their first air cushioned vehicles in the 1960s, du-ring the Vietnam War, to gain experience in coastal and riverine operations.
