Abstract

This special issue has been inspired by the two, truly transdisciplinary Tokaj Wine Congresses, which were arranged in 2022 and 2024 in Sárospatak, the historic town of the Tokaj World Heritage Wine Region in Hungary. The key subject areas included all aspects of viticulture, oenology, multifunctional organic agriculture, use of byproducts, wine and health, the economy of wine, wine tourism and conservation of the cultural heritage of wine. The main goal of the Congress is to pass on knowledge to professionals that is up-to-date, useful, and easy to put into practice from a holistic perspective and to create an international scientific and educational platform for integrated vine and wine science.
