Abstract

Cultural history is not recognized as an independent academic discipline. Its study requires interdisciplinary knowledge, given that anyone wishing to present their knowledge coupled with other academic disciplines must have a very deep understanding of his/her own field. This paper lists the journals and manuals that have been and are referred to as "cultural history" journals in Hungary, highlighting their different perspectives and methodological approaches. It also concerns the generational nature of scientific practice, as well as the fact that no scientific journal can exist without devoted individuals. Thus these persons inevitably hallmark the image of the journal they edit.
