Abstract
This study presents the economic role of small and medium-sized enterprises, their competitive culture, and the practices they typically employ to restrict economic competition, as well as the relevant Hungarian competition law and case law. In Hungary, compliance programmes with a focus on competition law play an important role in monitoring competitive practices, and it is crucial that small and medium-sized enterprises also implement and utilise them. Therefore, this papers also addresses the competition law and jurisprudential background underlying these compliance initiatives.
