Abstract
SOPHIA'S CONTROVERSIAL PATH OF THE HYPERMODERN FUTURISM; ARTIST: Sophia Al-Maria "Gulf Futurism," a concept developed by artist Sophia Al-Maria, examines the rapid, paradoxical modernization of the Persian Gulf, where oil-driven, hightech development has abruptly replaced traditional Bedouin life. Through a critique of this "dizzying" transition and the rise of consumerist spaces like shopping malls, Al-Maria presents a dystopian view of cultural erosion and environmental degradation.
