Abstract

The influence of ferronickel slag combined with C-type fly ash-based geopolymer is studied. Four various C type fly ash-based geopolymer paste samples with 0% and 20% ferronickel slag 4 combined with 1% and 2% microfiber were manufactured. The increase of ferronickel slag content lengthened the setting time and improved the workability of the fresh geopolymer. However, adding microfiber reduces the flow ability and speeds up the setting time. The performance of compressive and flexural strength is positively impacted by the addition of ferronickel slag 4. All the combinations incorporating microfiber increased the flexural strength at 28 days. The cracks formation and pores can be reduced by adding a combination of ferronickel slag 4 and microfiber.
