Abstract

A tanulmány a turizmusfejlesztési jogcímen megítélt pénzügyi források területi aspektusait vizsgálja Magyarországon 2004 és 2020 között, különös tekintettel az Észak-Magyarország régióra. A kutatás célja, hogy feltárja, milyen hatást gyakoroltak az EU-s támogatások hazánk turizmusának teljesítményére és versenyképességére. Az eredmények alapján Észak-Magyarország kiegyensúlyozott fejlődése fenntartható növekedési pályát mutat. Jelentősebb növekedést az árbevétel és a kapacitáskihasználtság terén ért el, ami az uniós források célzott és hatékony felhasználását tükrözi. Ugyanakkor a beágyazottság stagnáló mutatói az infrastruktúra további bővítésének szükségességét jelzik. A regionális összehasonlítások rávilágítanak az egyes régiók eltérő fejlődési pályáira, például a Közép-Dunántúl régióban kiegyensúlyozott teljesítmény volt mérhető, míg az Észak-Alföld régióban a keresleti oldal gyengesége miatt alacsonyabb teljesítményt azonosíthatunk. A Nyugat-Dunántúlon a fürdőturizmusból fakadó bevételek révén kiemelkedő értékeket tapasztalhattunk, de a hatékonysági mutatói csökkentek, ami a források alulhasznosítására utal. A tanulmány javaslatokat fogalmaz meg az alacsonyabb teljesítményű régiók fejlesztési stratégiáinak erősítésére, a fenntarthatóságot előtérbe helyező ESG-elvek alkalmazására, valamint az infrastruktúra modernizációjára. Az eredmények rávilágítanak arra, hogy az EU-s források jelentős mértékben hozzájárultak Magyarország turisztikai fejlődéséhez, miközben hangsúlyozzák a térségi különbségek csökkentésének és a forrásfelhasználás hatékonyságnövelésének további szükségességét. | The study examines the territorial aspects of the financial resources allocated to tourism development in Hungary between 2004 and 2020, with special emphasis on the North-Hungary region. The aim of the research is to explore the impact of EU funding on the performance and competitiveness of tourism in Hungary.The results show that the balanced development of Northern Hungary is on a sustainable growth path. Significant growth has been achieved in terms of turnover and capacity utilisation, reflecting the targeted and efficient use of EU funds. At the same time, stagnating indicators of embeddedness point to the need for further infrastructure expansion. Regional comparisons highlight the different development trajectories of the regions, for example, the Central Transdanubia region has shown a balanced performance, while the Northern Great Plain region has underperformed due to a weak demand side. In Western Transdanubia, we have seen an outstanding performance in terms of revenues from spa tourism, but a decline in efficiency indicators, which points to an under-utilisation of resources. The study makes recommendations for strengthening development strategies in underperforming regions, applying ESG principles that put sustainability first, and modernising infrastructure. The results highlight the significant contribution of EU funds to Hungary's tourism development, while underlining the need to further reduce regional disparities and increase the efficiency of resource use.
