Abstract
József Csetényi (1875–1956) was a student of humanities at the Royal Hungarian University of Sciences in Budapest, later he became a journalist, working for several newspapers. He published several books on economics and politics and was a member of the Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Table Society from the late 1920s. In addition to his public activities, he was also an important art collector, although not many people knew it at the time. There is little information about what he bought and where. His collection consisted mainly of European Renaissance and Baroque paintings.
