Abstract

A kutatás célja a Soproni Egyetem hallgatói fenntarthatósággal kapcsolatos ismereteinek, attitűdjeinek és gyakorlati magatartásának feltárása volt az ENSZ Agenda 2030 célrendszerének tükrében. A személyes kérdőíves felmérésben összesen 282 hallgató vett részt, az erdőmérnöki, faipari és közgazdasági karokról, karonként egyenlő, 94 fős mintával. A vizsgálat kiterjedt a fenntarthatósági célok ismeretére, a személyes környezeti terhelés megítélésére, valamint a Soproni Egyetem fenntarthatósági törekvéseinek ismertségére. Az eredmények alapján a karok között különbség mutatkozik a fenntarthatósági ismeretek szintjében, azonban a hallgatók környezeti terhelése hasonló mértékű. A fenntarthatósági problémák közül a környezetszennyezés, a klímaváltozás és a túlnépesedés bizonyultak a legfontosabbnak. Az egyetem fenntarthatósági kezdeményezéseit legnagyobb arányban a közgazdasági kar hallgatói ismerik. Összességében a kutatás rávilágít arra, hogy bár a fenntarthatósági ismeretek karonként eltérnek, a hallgatók körében általános igény mutatkozik a tudatos és környezetkímélő életmódra, ami megalapozhatja az egyetemi szemléletformálás további fejlesztését. | The aim of the research was to explore the knowledge, attitudes, and practical behavior of students at the University of Sopron regarding sustainability, in the context of the United Nations’ Agenda 2030 framework. A total of 282 students participated in the personal questionnaire survey, equally representing the Faculties of Forestry, Wood Engineering, and Economics, with 94 respondents from each faculty. The study examined students’ awareness of sustainability goals, their perception of personal environmental impact, and their knowledge of the University of Sopron’s sustainability initiatives. Based on the results, differences were observed among the faculties in the level of sustainability-related knowledge; however, the students’ environmental impact proved to be similar across faculties. Among the sustainability challenges, environmental pollution, climate change, and overpopulation were identified as the most significant. The sustainability initiatives of the University were most widely recognized by students of the Faculty of Economics. Overall, the research highlights that although the level of sustainability knowledge varies across faculties, there is a general student demand for a conscious, environmentally friendly lifestyle, which may serve as a foundation for further development of sustainability-oriented education and awareness-raising within the University.
