Abstract

Noha a statisztikai adatgyűjtés története egészen az időszámításunk kezdetéig nyúlik vissza, ebben a tanulmányban csak az elmúlt 200 évvel foglalkozom, amit összekötök a Magyar Tudományos Akadémia szintén 200 éves múltjával és az ehhez kapcsolódó ünnepségsorozattal. A statisztikatudomány nagy elődeinek gondolatai ma is meghatározóak, a késői követők pedig a modern technológia segítségével adják meg a választ a 21. század komplex kihívásaira. Felvillantom a jelenkor aktuális kutatási témáit is, összekapcsolva azt a statisztikatudomány gyökereivel. | Although statistical data collection dates back to the very beginning of human history, this study deals only with the history of the last 200 years. We connect this with the 200-year history of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the related series of celebrations. The ideas of the great predecessors of statistics are still influential today, whie the late followers use modern technology to provide answers to the complex challenges of the 21st century. We also highlight current research topics of the present, connecting them with the roots of statistics.
