Abstract
Financial market surveillance represents one of the most intricate forms of state power, operating at the intersection of law, economics, and institutional decision-making. The Hungarian supervisory framework is the result of more than one hundred and fifty years of legal development, extending far beyond the traditional boundaries of financial law. Through the lens of supervisory procedures, this book uncovers the constitutional, administrative, private, and criminal law dimensions of market oversight, while analysing central bank practice and case law. It reveals not only the rules, but the legal rationality and discretionary space behind supervisory decisions.
