Abstract

A radikális jobboldali pártok iránti érdeklődés az utóbbi évtizedekben jelentősen megnőtt a politikatudományi szakirodalomban, köszönhetően annak, hogy az európai országokban állandó és meghatározó szereplőivé váltak a pártversenynek. Spanyolország sokáig azon kevés kivétel közé tartozott, ahol nem jött létre releváns radikális jobboldali párt. A helyzet azonban az utóbbi években megváltozott, a VOX rövid idő alatt képes volt az ország harmadik legerősebb pártjává válni. A tanulmány célja megválaszolni azt a kérdést, hogy milyen tényezőkkel magyarázható a VOX megerősödése. Illeszkedve a pártcsalád kutatása során alkalmazott módszertanhoz, a keresleti oldalon a VOX szavazóira összpontosítva bemutatásra kerülnek azok szociokulturális jellemzői és sajátos attitűdjei. Kínálati oldalról pedig a VOX által közvetített legfontosabb üzenetekre, a párt felépítésére, illetve a pártrendszer többi szereplője magatartásának elemzésére kerül a hangsúly. Az eredmények azt mutatják, hogy a VOX szavazói nem térnek el jelentősen a szakirodalomban leírt radikális pártok támogatóitól. Ezenkívül látható, hogy a stabil pártrendszer felbomlása, a Néppárt centrumba történő elmozdulása, valamint a katalán válság kapcsán növekvő polarizáció elősegítette a VOX megerősödését. = Interest in radical right parties has increased significantly in the political science literature in recent decades, due to the fact that they have become permanent and decisive players in the party competition in European countries. For a long time, Spain used to be one of the few exceptions where no relevant radical right party has emerged. However, the situation has changed over the last few years, as VOX has been able to become the third strongest party of the country in a very short time. The aim of the study is to answer the question of what factors explain the strengthening of VOX. In line with the methodology used in the research on the party family, I will focus on the demand side of VOX voters, presenting their socio-cultural characteristics and their specific attitudes. On the supply side, the focus will be on the main messages conveyed by VOX, the structure of the party, and the behaviour of other actors in the party system. The results show that VOX voters do not deviate significantly from supporters of other radical parties described in. It also can be seen that the disintegration of the stable party system, the shift of the People’s Party towards the centre and the growing polarisation in the context of the Catalan crisis have contributed to the strengthening of VOX.
